How to use Reddit Demand Validator

Demand research starts with evidence that people experience a specific problem. This tool looks for relevant public conversations and summarizes the signals it can find. It helps decide what to investigate next rather than certifying a business idea.

  1. Describe the customer, the problem and how they currently work around it.
  2. Read the returned evidence and open the original conversations.
  3. Compare the pain, current alternatives and timing before planning interviews or an experiment.

How to interpret your result

The demand score summarizes the retrieved sample. Check whether the people expressing pain match your intended audience. Repeated complaints may justify more research, but they do not establish willingness to pay.

What this tool cannot tell you

Search coverage is incomplete and can miss relevant conversations. Old posts, duplicates and adjacent topics can distort a sample. A low score may reflect limited evidence rather than an absence of demand.

Is this enough evidence to build the product?

Use it to form a testable hypothesis. Talk to people who experience the problem, understand their current workaround, and test an offer or prototype before treating the score as a business decision.
